About Us

The young family

We are Chelsea and Greg Young. Our interest in health, wellness, and the quality of the food we consume has grown significantly throughout our adult lives, especially after having children. We've always enjoyed establishing connections with the sources of our food by regularly visiting farmers' markets, but never had aspirations to own or operate a farm ourselves.

But here we are.

During the pandemic in 2020, Chelsea, who had never been known for having a green thumb, took up gardening as an outlet. Over several months, our family dedicated time to plant and nurture a vegetable garden, yielding produce like kale, squash, tomatoes, basil, and more. Chelsea’s gardening skills flourished, turning her black thumb green! We were growing our own food and teaching our kids valuable lessons along the way. The experience was incredibly rewarding and ignited a newfound passion in Chelsea.

In November 2021, our vision expanded to take on an even bigger challenge: an 18-acre farm. We aimed to create a space that promotes healthy living, organic farming, and community engagement.

We have four young kids and wanted them to have an environment where they could appreciate the simple joys of farming, discover the value of hard work, connect with nature, and learn firsthand about the food they eat. Our farm created a space that promotes seasonal eating, connecting with nature, and organic living. We love everything the farm stands for and want to share our passion with the community.

So, we created Young Harvest Farm to share this passion.

The once neglected barn now serves as a workout center where Chelsea shares her passion for yoga and fitness with regular classes.

We built a hoop house where we grow vegetables year round and planted fruit trees and berry bushes throughout the property. We host gardening workshops here to help people learn how to grow their own food at home.

The farmhouse hosts farm-to-table dinners and instructional classes on sustainable living, featuring topics such as sourdough and herbalism.

Young Harvest Farm was created to share knowledge, foster connections, and promote a sustainable and healthy way of life. Through workshops and community events, we educate, empower, and connect people more deeply with nature and one another.

We hope you join us in this journey. Let your children roam the land and play freely. Create bonds with other like minded people. Experience the hands-on approach to farming. Connect with this vibrant community, and discover the joys of a life intertwined with nature.
